Citygate is currently developing a strategic business plan for the Alameda County Fire Department. The design of this plan will be to guide the efforts of the Department over the next 10 years. This strategic plan will entail the preparation of an environmental scan that identifies key internal and external factors with potential to significantly impact the Department or the services it provides over the next decade, as well as, in conjunction with the Department’s Strategic Planning Committee, the refining of vision, mission, and values statements and the development of goals, strategies, and objectives to achieve the desired future state of the Department.

Citygate conducted an impact analysis for the Alameda County Fire Department regarding the effects of Union City closing one fire station.

Citygate conducted a fire services Standards of Coverage analysis for the Alameda County Fire Department. This study included reviewing the adequacy of the current fire station resource deployment system, the risks to be protected, and the emergency incident outcomes desired by the community.

In 2006 and 2007, Citygate presented incident management training to personnel who staff the Alameda and Contra Costa County Type III Incident Management Teams. Training included all the command and general staff courses (S-400 series), as well as the command and general staff capstone courses and S-400 Incident Commander. Exercises and scenarios were all-risk and focused on the potential disasters and fires in the East Bay Area region. A total of 13 courses were presented on time and within budget. The Department of Homeland Security funded this project, and the project met Office of Domestic Preparedness approval.
