Citygate conducted a needs assessment for animal services provided in Sutter County, including an examination of the office operations, shelter operations, field operations, spay/neuter and education programs, community relations, and facilities replacement options. We examined the various types of animal shelters currently being constructed and contrasted this modern construction with the Sutter County Animal Shelter and other shelters. We provided recommendations regarding the funding, operation, and staffing of a new animal shelter. A new state-of-the-art shelter was built and is now open.
