Ms. Feingold previously served as the Executive Director of Fulton County Animal Services, under Southern Hope Humane Society nonprofit management, which provided animal care and control to the City of Atlanta, Georgia; unincorporated Fulton County; and 13 other cities, with a total human population of over one million. During her tenure, in which they impounded approximately 10,000 animals per year, Ms. Feingold doubled licensing revenue and increased adoptions/transfers by over 550 percent. She also served as the Shelter Director of DeKalb County Animal Services (DCAS), under LifeLine Animal Project nonprofit humane management, also located in the metropolitan Atlanta area. Under Ms. Feingold’s management, DCAS impounded approximately 8,500 animals per year and was brought from a 65 percent live release rate to over a 90 percent live release rate.
Ms. Feingold has over 15 years of experience as an animal shelter consultant. After completing a full operational analysis of Douglas County Animal Control as a consultant, she was asked by the County to serve as its Interim Director to help implement some of the most urgent recommendations, and she brought that shelter to a live release rate of over 90 percent as well. Ms. Feingold co-founded SPOT (Stopping Pet Overpopulation Together), a spay/neuter and education nonprofit. She has also been the National Sales Manager for PetData, a pet licensing company. She served for five years on the Cobb County Animal Advisory Board and was the co-author of a complete rewrite of the Cobb County Animal Ordinances. Upon the request of the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, Ms. Feingold helped organize and implement a temporary shelter located in the St. Bernard Parish after Hurricane Katrina. In addition, Ms. Feingold also spent many years as a volunteer with nonprofit humane organizations.
Ms. Feingold has expertise in all aspects of animal sheltering, including operations management; standard operating procedures; shelter software systems, including Chameleon; nonprofit fundraising; social media/marketing; animal ordinances; veterinary care; disease prevention; spay/neuter; public/private animal control partnerships; and methods to increase pet licensing.
