Project:
Citygate assisted NuStar Energy’s Western Region with a project to determine any needs the terminals have in terms of leadership, operational support, customer service, communication, and culture shaping. Citygate then facilitated a workshop with the regional support team to prioritize the services to be delivered to the terminals and clarify the roles and responsibilities needed to provide the desired services.

Project:
Citygate provided a fire Joint Powers Authority workshop on current trends and issues in the provision of shared fire services to Foster City, San Mateo, and Belmont Fire Protection Districts.

Project:
Citygate’s Stewart Gary provided a workshop for the Ventura County Fire Chiefs Association to review current trends and issues facing the California fire service.

City of Sacramento, CA
Project:
Citygate provided consulting services to improve performance and accountability within the Fire Prevention Bureau for the City of Sacramento. Citygate provided technical work products, process re-design facilitation, inter-departmental agreements, fiscal and software reform advice, and project reports to executive management over the course of this one-year, $150,000 engagement. To better understand the workflow and integrated processes within the Bureau, Citygate worked with the client team to develop clear logic models identifying not only the various steps within the Bureau’s programs, but also their relationships with each other. The creation of job checklists, which were drafted with an engaged staff team, were most helpful to the client for building sustainable, improved effectiveness and efficiency.

Project:
Citygate was selected to assist the City on this two-phase effort. This project consisted of a review of the “Road Map for Implementation,” integration of the Public Works Department permitting processes, and identification of opportunities to improve efficiency of the City’s development review permitting process.

Project:
Citygate conducted a healthcare preparedness partnership training, education, and exercise analysis for Monterey County. Citygate audited current emergency plans and training schedules and conducted a gap analysis and closure to identify short- and long-term vulnerabilities that may prevent a rapid, definitive, and effective response to an emergency in Monterey County. The plan is scalable and modifiable, with recommendations for training sources.

Project:
Citygate provided assessment and planning services regarding a Bay Area multi-discipline Incident Management Team Concept for the City of Fremont. The planning was regionally focused and provided guidance to close the gap between the current situation and the desired future state. Citygate performed a needs assessment and performance audit of current incident management assets, developed an end-state goal for all-hazard, multi-discipline Incident Management Teams in the Bay Area, performed a gap analysis, and developed findings and recommendations consistent with current and potential best practices.

Citygate provided leadership, succession planning, and team building consulting to the City Council staff of Salt Lake City. This engagement was designed to enhance currently held values and develop additional values to strengthen the team’s leadership, strengthen their organizational development, and manage change.

Project:
Citygate worked with the City of Fremont to develop an Emergency Operations Center staff training plan that included an orientation seminar, tabletop exercise, and functional exercise in their newly reconfigured operations center. The members of the training planning team, under Citygate’s guidance, presented the training.

Project:
Citygate facilitated and presented training at the Fire Department’s one-day strategic planning session. The training addressed the topic of leadership, character, and values, as well as emerging public safety best practices to operationalize these important attributes using psychometric instrumentation to hire, professionally develop, promotion plan, and succession plan within the Department.
