Fire and Emergency Services Study

Completed Date:
March 2001
Project Description:

Citygate conducted a study of the fire and emergency services in Sonoma County. The goals of the study were two-fold. First, the study aimed to provide the 13 participating entities with individual feedback they could use to make individual decisions regarding their provision of fire and emergency services. Second, the study aimed to provide the Sonoma County Board of Supervisors with overall information on the current condition and standard practices in the fire service. This was based on a need to look at the impacts on the fire service as a whole when major policies were considered. This assisted the County particularly as it considered policy decisions with respect to fire protection resources and impacts on County constituents. Participating agencies included Bennett Valley, Cloverdale, County Service Area #40, Forestville, Glen Ellen, Gold Ridge, Kenwood, Rancho Adobe, Rincon Valley, Russian River, Schell-Vista, Valley of the Moon, and Windsor.
