Citygate is currently performing an operational review and providing mentoring for the Western Riverside Council of Governments’ Finance Department. The operational review will include an examination of the Department’s organizational structure; a review of the financial policies, procedures, and practices; and a review of the Department’s operational functions, workflow processes, and documents to identify overall strengths and weaknesses and provide recommendations for streamlining procedures and processes. The mentoring will entail assisting the Finance Director in the development of long-range financial planning and forecasting models based on industry best practices and providing professional guidance and mentoring to key management staff as needed.
Citygate is currently performing an operational and staffing review of the Public Works Department for the City of Brawley, California. This review will provide the City with a roadmap of recommendations to improve the public works processes and assure the highest level of timeliness and customer service, particularly for the processing, conditioning, and approval of development projects and anticipated increases in workload due to future economic development opportunities. To provide this roadmap, Citygate will examine the current organizational structure of the Public Works divisions and any potential reorganization for improved efficacy, evaluate service delivery, evaluate resources needed, review the systems in use, assess staffing functions and supervisory ratios, identify alternative service delivery methods, and identify any opportunities for outsourcing.
As a follow-on engagement from our study for the Solano County Local Agency Formation Commission, Citygate is currently providing assistance as necessary to the Cordelia/Suisun/Vacaville fire task force with their fire services merger work. Much of this will entail coaching and meeting facilitation, as directed by the County.
Central Fire Protection District of Santa Cruz County, CA
Citygate completed a Standards of Coverage (SOC) and management administrative assessment for the Central Fire Protection District of Santa Cruz County. This study was based on nationally recognized guidelines and best practices, federal and state mandates, and pertinent local and regional operating procedures. This study included a community risk assessment as part of an in-depth SOC, as well as assessments of each of the Department’s divisions, including administration, operations, fire prevention, training, EMS, and fleet maintenance.
Citygate completed a comprehensive Standards of Coverage study for the South County Fire Authority to prepare for future needs based on nationally recognized guidelines and best practices, federal and state mandates, and pertinent local and regional operating procedures.
Bay Area Urban Area Security initiative (UASI), CA
Citygate is currently on Alameda County’s list of approved vendors to provide training courses for a three-year training program across four disciplines for the 12 counties in the Bay Area UASI. The disciplines include law enforcement, fire and emergency medical services, emergency management, and public health. Citygate has successfully completed 16 courses under this contract.
Citygate completed a feasibility study for interested Monterey County Public Safety Agencies to be serviced by Santa Cruz Regional 9 1 1. The scope of the project includes: identifying Monterey County public safety agencies interested in transferring their 9 1 1 and dispatch services from the Monterey County Emergency Communications Department to Santa Cruz Regional 9 1 1; determining the ability of Santa Cruz Regional 9 1 1 to accommodate the additional loading and services to those agencies within its current facility; identifying the one-time costs associated with said service change; identifying any operational differences between the two dispatch centers; and assisting with equipment and facility configuration to accommodate said service change.
Sacramento Regional Fire/EMS Communications Center, CA
Citygate completed an in-depth data analysis for the Sacramento Regional Fire/EMS Communications Center. This utilized the most recent 36 months of CAD data and resulted in a system-wide aggregate and incident-specific report of sufficient thoroughness and quality to be used in legal proceedings.
